In Mazandaran province, 14 schoolgirls were hospitalized after experiencing similar symptoms, while in Hormozgan, 30 schoolgirls were affected. In Kermanshah, 21 schoolgirls were hospitalized, while in Ilam, 8 schoolgirls were affected. In Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, 7 schoolgirls were hospitalized. The head of Hormozgan’s education department stated that the cause of the illness is still under investigation, but initial reports suggest that the students may have consumed contaminated food or water.

The Iranian government has dispatched teams to investigate the cause of the illnesses, with officials collecting samples of water, food, and soil from the affected areas. The health ministry has also issued a statement urging the public to be vigilant and to avoid consuming water or food that may be contaminated.

According to local media reports, some of the affected schoolgirls have been discharged from hospital after receiving treatment, while others are still receiving medical attention. The incident has raised concerns over the safety of school facilities and the quality of food and water provided to students.

This recent incident is not the first of its kind in Iran, with previous cases of mass poisoning reported in schools and other public places. In 2018, more than 500 students in the city of Bam were hospitalized after consuming contaminated food. The incident sparked protests and calls for government action to ensure public safety
