US President Joe Biden Shows “Unwavering” Support for Ukraine as Putin Suspends Nuclear Arms Treaty with Washington

Moscow has suspended its participation in a nuclear arms treaty with Washington, raising tensions between the two countries. As the war in Ukraine enters its second year, US President Joe Biden has rallied NATO allies in Poland, using his visit to show “unwavering” support for Kyiv.

Joe Biden’s Surprise Visit to Ukraine

Just days before his visit to Poland, Biden made a surprise visit to Ukraine, where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. During their meeting, Biden reassured Zelensky of the US’s commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity while pushing for reforms to combat corruption.

Joe Biden’s Trip to Poland

On Tuesday, Joe Biden arrived in Poland to meet with NATO allies and discuss the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. During a joint statement with Polish President Andrzej Duda, Biden reaffirmed the US commitment to NATO and its support for allies and partners. In addition, he stressed the importance of Ukraine’s security and sovereignty, stating that “the United States stands firmly behind Ukraine and will never recognize Russia’s illegal annexation of Crimea.

Russia’s Suspension of Nuclear Arms Treaty with Washington

While Joe Biden was in Poland, Russia announced the suspension of its role in a nuclear arms treaty with Washington. This move will escalate tensions between the two countries as the conflict in Ukraine continues.

The Importance of US Support for Ukraine

US support for the country cannot be overstated during the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. While Russia continues to Mobilize its military in the region, Ukraine needs help to defend itself against potential aggression. Joe Biden’s visit to Ukraine and subsequent trips to Poland are essential in showing the US’s commitment to Ukraine and its NATO allies and sending Russia a message that the US and its Allies will not tolerate aggression.
